If your run Firefox, look at for options to speed-up your doanlowd. One plugin called noscript might even block the doanlowd of the javascript support files which makes up the bulk of the doanlowd. I couldn't confirm this, but it's worth a try.I searched a whole bunch for WordPress options for low-bandwidth users. You may have seen sites that have a button for users to select a plain text option. I didn't find anything, but maybe some blogger experts can chime in.
