It's so cliche to say Hendrix. People who say that really don't have a clue. He was the best but so many people have surpassed him now. I would say Satriani is one of the best, he plays to perfection and he also taught Vai, Hammet and a couple of others he's a god among real guitarists not people who just listen to mainstream rock.

Mamlsteen, Satriani, who cares. The question isn't who can play the most notes in a bar, the question is who's the best guitarist, I'm a drummer, I'd rather have Jimi in my band than anyone else, that should be the measure of the best guitarist.

You know, I was just trying to jusfity that all musicians are influenced in one way or another and that SRV wasn't solely good because of Hendrix. If I had it my way, I'd say SRV is probably the MOST gifted guitar player of all time so far IMO. Don't know where all that pent up anger and profanities came from, but I'm sorry I offended you. I was just supporting the EXACT same point you're criticizing me for. lol. weird.I'm just so full of nonsense these days..
