It depends on the situation. Monetary help is always useful however if the other parent can offer some stability for the child with visting it might be a close match. I am a single parent who does not receive child support regularly nor does the father visit. If the father showed some type of maturity or fatherly instinct I would choose visitation hands down. At this time I feel his monetary contribution would better serve his child as he is unwilling to commit to being a full-time father.
