You know, she almost lost my itnsreet at the start there with the ..doesn't present itself as a scientific approach to the life of the psyche. But then as she explained more in terms of participation and story I got where she was going. I'd completely agree that the medicalization of existential problems doesn't necessarily solve the real problems. I can see how she would be a good teacher. This got me thinking about some personal ideas I've been playing around with lately. I've been, for lack of a better way of putting this, emotionally retarded about a lot of things in my life. As a result, it does feel sometimes like I'm not really taking part in my own story, or writing my own story, as it were. Thanks, m-g. I think I have another book to add to my Christmas list.

hi ellen,i just stumbled upon your wesbite and look forward to exploring it further! i thought you might be interested in eidetic image psychology founded by dr. akhter ahsen, if you have not heard of it already. akhter's work asserts we need to restore our minds to their natural state (via the myth and nature itself) to experience true healing. joseph campbell had written the forward in his book manhunt . there are other books available on amazon if you are at all inclined to learn more about his work.cheers, wendy
