Back when I was practicing bankruptcy law a lot of pelpoe told me that they wanted to pay their debts. But when the time came to choose between walking away (Chapter 7) and repaying (Chapter 13) almost everyone picked walking away unless they had a discharge issue in Chapter 7 or wanted to try to save their house.
