Like Nicholas, most SW fan-edits strike me as maoicilus at worst, arrogant at best. ANH, you wrote a piece ( To Preserve and Protect ) here within the past couple of weeks that nailed it these movies are George Lucas' art to do with as he pleases, period. If you don't like what he does, use your surely superior themes to make your own movie. It seems to me that many fan-editors don't grasp the difference between art and technology art isn't about building a better mousetrap , it's about the expression of the artist. I'm a musician; I write and record songs and really, nobody cares much about them, but they're floating around online. If somebody took one of them and re-purposed it, changing the feeling or intent of the song, I'd feel violated So I always imagine that for George Lucas, it's that feeling, multiplied by a million.
