how come you guys say such things! I bet some of you are Polish. I have been living in Poland for 5 years now and everyday I wonder: WHY DO YOU HATE YOUR OWN COUNTRY SO MUCH?? I know that life is hard sometimes, but it is everywhere in the world! you should not base your opinion on TV programmes and shows that idealize other countries. I've been here quite long and I don't see any oddity that is bigger than some place else. What is more, (I'll try not too elaborate too much): 1. If YOU (Polish people) say such things about your country and the rest of the world can read it or listen to it (since Poles are widely spread around the world) DO NOT BE SURPRISED that this country is not as respected as France is, for example. 2. I know that it is important to have a sence of humor and sometimes laugh at yourself but this is too much! noone thinks that Poland sucks. Unless YOU tell them!! It is a vicious cicle. You guys have to think it over. Do such things in your own backyard, not in the Internet. 3. Be more self-confident! your country is beatiful! 4. America is full of bizarre things and "sucks" as much as Poland does. BUT, Americans are proud to be American. They love their ountry and will not let anyone to say a bad word about it. Then, they send a message to the world that they are great. And there is an opinion that America is a dream place to live. Not because it really is but because their integrity tell you to think so!! Btw, making such a poll was way over the top. it is ridiculous. 5. When taking into consideration so called "civilized" countries, they are more or less the same. It is their citizens that create opinions. So be more optimistic and you'll see that your country DOES NOT SUCK!!

I'm not anti-Polish - I've been to Warsaw and I enjoyed it there. Nevertheless, I do think that SOME of today's young Poles are intolerably arrogant and think they're better than Western Europeans. These people are not better, just cheaper. I'm talking about some of the Poles who emigrate to other countries (e.g. the UK) and start moaning just because these countries are different from Poland. Of course they're different - if Poland is so wonderful, stay there! Remember, we British are sending billions upon billions of pounds of taxpayers' money to the new EU (not to mention everywhere else in the world) and at the same time opening our borders to immigrants from all over the world. If you come into our country to live you should learn to like it - otherwise go home. Similarlly, if British people go to live in Poland they must accept that it's a different country with different customs and culture. As a matter of fact I do know about Division 303, who were indeed very effective in the Battle of Britain. However, if you believe what some Poles say you'd think ALL the Allied pilots were Polish. The majority of these pilots were British. Plus, whose planes were flying over Warsaw during the uprising and providing the Poles with food and ammunition? That's right - British and American planes. If the evil Soviets had not stopped British planes from re-fuelling the Warsaw Uprising might have succeeded. And we put up more resistance to Hitler than the French did. Another thing: Poles seem to think only Churchill and Stalin signed the Declaration of Jałta. Perhaps they've never heard of Franklin D Roosevelt, the then president of America. He was the one who really sold Poland to the Soviets. Churchill knew Stalin wanted to overrun Eastern Europe and he also knew he would only be able to save Poland etc. from Communist rule with American support. Sadly, Mr. Roosevelt agreed with the USSR. Do Poles really think Britain could have beaten the Soviet Union all by itself? Remember, half of our cities had been bombed to pieces by the Germans by 1944. If we had attacked the USSR without the help of the USA what would have been the result? More dead Poles and Russians. Oh, and British (but I suppose that's not so important, is it?). And the Soviets would have won anyway. One last thing - even though I'm British I'm not fat, I do work hard and I don't eat hamburgers, so please don't generalise. Dziękuję za uwagę.

I was born in Bristol and moved to Poland with my parents at the age of 3. To be honest the country is rather poor compared to the UK but people are TOTALLY GREAT. I see the biggest difference between youth. I have some 16-20 yo friends who are cute and still virgins (waiting for the true love) and most of young Poles study hard and get master's degree. It's very hard to find somebody who's not attending college. I can't say anything good about young people that I know from Britain. Very sad, but our west societies are depraved. Poland is still pure in fact. I know it's going to change within next years but in many aspects living in the UK is a nightmare compared to life in Poland. Comparing Poland to Russia is even funner, since these both nations hate each other (Poland is the only one country that conquered Russia) and Poland is A VERY SAFE country. Way safer than UK. There are almost no kidnapping & rapes. While in the UK I was really scared sometimes especially at night. Cheers.
