It sucks for the band but they are the ones who sign their rights away in cocrtants, and the label most of the time is the reason you have eve had the chance to enjoy that record. I wish it weren't done this way but if they hired a good lawyer come contract time, they won't have that problem. It only seems sketchy because of how much we love music and how much labels tend to only love their money.
