For those of you surprised anonye pays $25 for a hardback: in Australia we're paying $39. $25 is our paperback price, count yourselves lucky ;) (And it's not the exchange rate, either - our dollar is higher).I selected under $5, because that's what I'd pay for an unknown. But I'd be happy to pay $15 for authors I like, and pretty much anything for my favourites. And to the "traditional books should get more because there's more work in them" - One: if an author sets up their own publishing company (especially with multiple pen names), how will you know 'traditional' from 'indie'? Two: do you think there's no work in running your own business and publishing your own books? And Three: the market doesn't run on sympathy dollars, it runs on what people will pay. A mediocre tradpub book isn't worth more money than a stellar indiepub just because the tradpub costs more to make.

In the modern culture, every cent matters when designing and keeping up a month-to-month budget. For a lot of QuotesChimp, there's small space left for something additional, and budgeting for the assorted kinds of private insurance essential to take care of your household's fiscal well being may present an important problem. The expense of insurance fees may take a considerable chunk from any household's budget, making added stress on already limited financings.
