The polls also don't take into account the delomarization of the left wrt to Obama, which will affect voter turnout pretty severely I think. I know that you guys like to paint Obama as some sort of far-left socialist nut, but in reality the lefties are quite disappointed with him: end foreign engagements? No, I'll start some new ones! transparency? Never mind, that was just campaign rhetoric. civil liberties? Not a priority.Even on healthcare and oil drilling he's not really far left. The health plan, train wreck that it is, doesn't guarantee people health care so much as tell them they damn well better buy insurance. Likewise his position on oil drilling has been mixed. And on top of all of that I think there's a general recognition that even if he were more ideological and less of self-promoting opportunist, he still has the leadership abilities of a slug.Reply
